Creating a notification message for a publication

You can create a notification message to be sent to users if a publication runs successfully or fails. For example, a publication of OLAP Server metadata might fail if the Essbase server is not started. You can send a message that tells a user to start the Essbase server if the publication fails.

To notify users of a successful or unsuccessful publication:

  1. Open the Publish Metadata window.

  2. In the List of publications, right-click the publication for which you want to create a message and click Notification. The Notification page of the Schedule notebook opens.
