You can update metadata that has been published previously. If you add a new object to the Data Warehouse Center or to an Essbase outline, you must publish the object first. The update process only updates objects that were previously published.
To update metadata that has been published to the information catalog:
In the List of publications, right-click the publication that you want to run, and click Run.
You can view the log files that show the result of the update to the publication. The files are located in the directory specified by the VWS_LOGGING environment variable. The default value of the VWS_LOGGING variable for Windows NT is \sqllib\logging, located on the drive where DB2 UDB is installed. The following log file names are used:
