• Choosing an Application Performance Analyzer-started task identifier
• Making the Application Performance Analyzer-started task available
• Creating the installation-level and started task configuration settings
• Configuring external security (RACF)
• Pre-allocating a checkpoint data set (optional)
• Pre-allocating a common data store file (optional)
• Updating the descriptive program attribution tables (optional)
• Modifying Application Performance Analyzer procedure for third party products (optional)
• Starting the Application Performance Analyzer-started task
• Starting the IBM Application Performance Analyzer user interface
