Chapter 3. Populating the catalog with information

After you define the object types you need, you populate, or fill, the information catalog with objects. An object is an item that represents a unit or distinct grouping of information. Every object is associated with an object type. For example, an object type "Image" might include an object that is called My_DBA, which describes a bitmap photograph of the database administrator.

This chapter describes how to perform the following tasks:

Create objects
Copy existing objects
Update existing objects
Delete objects
