Options for Task Reassignment

When managing a user's workload, it is sometimes necessary to redirect the tasks assigned or reserved to that user to someone else. The Supervisor Workspace offers three main task reassignment functions; redirection, forwarding, and reallocation. These functions are briefly outlined in the table below to allow a comparison of their uses. A more detailed description of each function is provided in the subsections below.

Redirect User Tasks All of the user's assigned tasks. During the period of the redirection, any tasks that would have been assigned to the user. A user selected by the supervisor. Redirection can be time delimited. Redirection does not affect the user's reserved tasks.
Forward Tasks Reserved tasks or Assigned tasks Any allocation target may be selected by the supervisor, e.g. a user, a position, a job, an organization unit, a work queue. Single or multiple tasks can be forwarded.
Reallocate Tasks Reserved tasks or Assigned tasks Allocation target selected by the allocation strategy. Single or multiple tasks can be reallocated.
