The Mobile Content Enabler (MCE) tool retrieves data from rich text elements in IBM® Web Content Manager content items and transform the rich text date to equivalent XDIME format. The XDIME content can be rendered on mobile devices.
Components of MCE
The Mobile Content Enabler for Web Content Manager provides two content conversion utilities. They retrieve and transform the content data from each rich text element in the content item to XDIME format, and then store the transformed data in the corresponding HTML element in the same content item. It can then be rendered on the mobile devices. For example, the content data from a rich text element named Body will be transformed and stored in the HTML element named Body_m. The content data in the Body_m element can then be delivered to the mobile devices.
The mobile content conversion portlet application can be used in a batch mode to process and transform the rich text data in all the content items in a WCM library. This content conversion portlet can be used whenever is needed, and it can be used as many times as required.
A Web Content Manager custom workflow action that can be used to process and transform data in all the rich text elements in one content item at a time as part of a Web Content Manager workflow.
