Accessing Oracle data sources requires DB2 Relational Connect installed on your DB2 federated server.
Two different Oracle wrapper modules are included with DB2 Relational Connect: one for use with the SQL*Net V1 or V2 client software, and one for use with the Net8 client software. The client software that you use dictates the wrapper module that you will use. If you use SQL*Net, you must use the sqlnet wrapper, and if you use Net8, you must use the net8 wrapper.
Regardless of the client software that you use, you can access both Oracle Version 7 and Oracle Version 8 data sources.
