Before you install DB2 Relational Connect on your Windows system, make sure you have installed either DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Edition or DB2 Universal Database Enterprise - Extended Edition.
The following instructions explain how to install DB2 Relational Connect on your Windows NT or Windows 2000 system.

The installation launchpad opens.
From the launchpad you can view the installation prerequisites and the release notes, you can take a Quick Tour to explore the features, capabilities, and benefits of DB2 Universal Database Version 7, or you can proceed directly to the installation.
You can click Cancel at any time to end the installation.
Before you install DB2 Relational Connect, make sure you have installed either DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Edition or DB2 Universal Database Enterprise - Extended Edition. If you intend to include DB2 family databases in your distributed requests, you must have selected the Distributed Join for DB2 data sources option during the installation of DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Edition or DB2 Universal Database Enterprise - Extended Edition and verified that the FEDERATED parameter is set to YES.
The following instructions explain how to install DB2 Relational Connect on your AIX system.
The db2setup utility is the recommended method for installing DB2 Relational Connect on AIX systems. This utility can perform all of the tasks required to install DB2 Relational Connect.
To install DB2 Relational Connect on your AIX using the db2setup utility:

When installation is complete DB2 Relational Connect will be installed in the/usr/lpp/db2_07_01 directory with your other DB2 products.
