OLAP Setup and User's Guide

Before you begin

You need to install the Information Catalog Manager Tools component, which includes the Information Catalog Administrator component, on Windows NT workstations that your administrators will use to create an information catalog or to migrate existing information catalogs. You can install the Information Catalog Administrator component or the Information Catalog User component on additional workstations running any Windows 32-bit operating systems (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000). These workstations must have connectivity to the workstation where your DB2 Universal Database is located.

The installation program installs the Information Catalog Manager Tools, Information Catalog Administrator, and Information Catalog User components all together. You cannot install just one or two components; if you want one component on a workstation, then you must install all three components on that workstation.

After you install the Information Catalog Administrator component or the Information Catalog User component, you must register the server node and any remote information catalogs. See the Information Catalog Manager User's Guide for more information.

You can use the Information Catalog Manager for the Web to access metadata in your information catalogs from any operating system that supports DB2 Universal Database and Net.Data. The workstation where you install the Information Catalog Manager for the Web must also have Net.Data Live Connection Manager and Net.Data Perl Language Environment (LE) installed.
