Information Catalog Manager components

This section describes the software requirements for the following components: Information Catalog Manager Tools, Information Catalog Administrator, Information Catalog User, and the Information Catalog Manager for the Web.

Information Catalog Manager Tools component

To install the Information Catalog Manager Tools component, you need 50 MB of fixed disk space.

Information Catalog Administrator component

To install the Information Catalog Administrator component, you need 47 MB of fixed disk space.

The Information Catalog Administrator component requires one of the Windows 32-bit operating systems (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000).

Information catalogs can be hosted on DB2 Universal Database Version 5.2 (including fixpacks or CSDs) for OS/2, AIX, or Windows NT, if those information catalogs are not included in the same database as the warehouse control database.

Information catalogs can also be hosted on Version 6.1 or later of the following DB2 family databases:

If your information catalog is located remotely in an OS/390 or an AS/400 database, you must install DB2 Connect.

You also need a connection to your LAN.

Information Catalog User component

To install the Information Catalog User component, you need 26 MB of fixed disk space.

The Information Catalog User component requires one of the Windows 32-bit operating systems (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000).

Information Catalog Manager for the Web

To install the Information Catalog Manager for the Web, you need 500 KB of fixed disk space.

The following products are required on the Web server onto which you will install the Information Catalog Manager for the Web:

You must also install the appropriate software to establish connectivity from your Web server to the workstation where your information catalogs reside.

The Web server can be the same workstation as the database server, or a different workstation.

To access the Information Catalog Manager for the Web, the client workstation must have a Web browser that is enabled for HTML 3.2, such as Netscape Navigator 3.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0.
