Creating a batch

Use the Create Batch window to create an unassigned batch for use as either a production batch or a fix batch. To assign the batch to a group, use the Batches page of the Edit Group notebook. To use the batch as a fix batch, use the Fix Satellite window.

To create an unassigned batch:

  1. Open the Create Batch notebook.
  2. In the Name field, specify a name for the new batch.
  3. In the Description field, type a description of the new batch.

    When you create a new batch, the Type field defaults to Test.

  4. If you did not access the Create Batch window from the script details view, add scripts to the batch. Use the following push-buttons:
  5. Select a batch step and click Change to specify the execution target and success codes for the batch step.

    Repeat this step for every batch step. If a batch step is missing an execution target or a success code, the batch cannot be created.

  6. If you decide that you do not want a particular batch step to be part of the batch, select it and click Remove.
  7. Use the Move Up and Move Down push-buttons to specify the order in which you want the batch steps to be executed.
  8. Click OK. The batch is created in test mode, and is ready for testing, or for use as a fix batch.
