Use the Create/Edit/View Batch window to work with batch jobs. Depending on the operation that you are performing, this window will open in a different mode, and the available controls will depend on the mode of the window. In addition, a control may be active or inactive depending on whether the selected batch step is a test, production, or obsolete batch step.
Name
Use this field to specify a name for the batch job. The name can be a maximum of 18 characters.
If you are in edit or view mode, this field is read only.
Description
Use this field to specify a description of the batch. The description can be a maximum 128 characters.
This field is read only in edit mode.
Level (view mode only)
This read-only field displays the level of the batch. The possible values are:

Group name (view mode only)
This read-only field displays the name of the group that executes this batch.

Type (view mode only)
This read-only field displays whether the batch is a test batch for execution by test satellites, a production batch for execution by production satellites, or an obsolete batch that is no longer executable.

Batch steps
This field displays the batch steps (or ordered scripts) of the batch job. The satellites will execute the batch steps in the order in which the steps are displayed.
Note: | In create mode, you can modify all batch steps because the batch is unassigned. In edit mode, you can only edit an unassigned or a fix batch. In view mode, you cannot edit. |
Import (create and edit modes)
Use this push button to import scripts from the Script Center to the batch job. This push button opens the Import Script window.
Add (create and edit modes)
Use this push button to add scripts that are available in the Satellite Administration Centerto the batch. This push button opens the Add Scripts window.
Change or View (edit mode only)
Use this push button to modify the attributes of a test batch step. This push button opens the Change Batch Step notebook.

Remove (create and edit modes)
Use this push button to remove the selected batch step from the batch.
Move Up (create and edit modes)
Use this push button to move the selected batch step one position higher in the sequence.
Move Down (create and edit modes)
Use this push button to move the selected batch step one position lower in the sequence.
