Changing options for a single nickname

Use the Change Nicknames window to change the default values for a selected nickname. When DB2 populates the Create Nicknames window, the suggested nickname defaults to your user ID and the data source table or view name, as displayed in the Nickname column of the Create Nicknames window.

Note:

If you want to change the default values for all items in the Create Nicknames window, click the Change All push button on the Create Nicknames window to open the Change All Nicknames window.

These steps are part of the larger task of creating nicknames. When you complete the steps for changing nickname options, return to creating nicknames.

Fields and controls

To change the default nickname values:

1. In the Schema box, specify what you want to substitute for the default schema. You can select a schema substitute from the pull-down list or select Custom and type a new schema.
2. In the Nickname box, specify what you want to substitute for the default nickname. You can select a nickname substitute from the pull-down list or select Custom and type a new nickname value.
3. Click OK to refresh and change the selected nickname in the Create Nicknames window.
