Use the Warehouse Source notebook to import definitions of tables and views to include in your warehouse source.
The Available tables and views list contains the tables and views that are retrieved from the database catalog based on the filter criteria that you specify. When you move a table, view, or individual column to the Selected tables and views list, you select it as a warehouse source. When you click OK, the newly selected table, view and column definitions are retrieved and defined in the warehouse. These new definitions will appear in this list when you reopen the Warehouse Source notebook or if you select the tables folder below the warehouse source node in the Data Warehouse Center tree.
To import source tables and views into a warehouse source:
On the Tables and Views page, expand either the Tables or Views folder depending upon which type of object you want to import. You can also right-click the whitespace of the Available tables and views list and select Refresh to import both tables and views. The Filter window opens.
In the Filter window, specify the types of objects you want to import from the database. The options available on the Filter window depend upon whether you want to import a table or a view.
