../byb.gif Authorities and privileges

To specify database information for a warehouse source:

  1. Open the Warehouse Source notebook.

  2. On the Database page, specify the name of the database in the Database name field if your database type is in the DB2 Family. In order for a connection to be established, the database must already exist and be catalogued as an ODBC system DSN.

If your database type is not in the DB2 Family, specify the system data source name in the Datasource Name field. In this case, the data source name can differ from the database name.

  1. Optional: If you are using a database or file that has the same name as another database or file on a different workstation, specify in the System Name field the host name of the workstation on which the database or file that you are defining as a warehouse source exists.

  2. In the User ID field, type the user ID that will access the database from the agent site workstation.

  3. In the Password field, type the password for the user ID that will access the database.

  4. Type the password again in the Verify Password field.

  5. Optional: For non-DB2 Family data sources, select the Customize ODBC Connect String check box to enter a specific connect string.

  1. Type an ODBC Connect String, if applicable.

  2. Go to the Tables and Views page if you are defining a warehouse source, or click OK to save your changes and close the Warehouse Sources notebook.
