Creating cascade relationships

Use the Task Flow page of the Schedule notebook to create one or more cascade relationships for a process or for a step in the process.

If the Task Flow page is opened from a currently selected step, the Predecessor and Successor drop-down lists are populated with all the steps and shortcuts in the currents step's process.

If the Task Flow page is opened from a currently selected process, both the Predecessor and Successor drop-down lists are populated with all the steps and shortcuts in the currently selected process.

  Authorities and privileges

To create cascade relationships:

1. Open the Task Flow page of the Schedule notebook.

2. To add a task flow, right-click and select Add.

3. For each task flow that you add:

   • Select the predecessor step from the drop-down list under the Predecessor column.

   • Select the condition for the step from the drop-down list under the Condition column.

   • Select the successor step from the drop-down list under the Successor column.

4. Optional: To cascade from a step within the current process to a step outside the process (to create a shortcut), click Create Shortcut. The Create Shortcut window opens. When you click OK on this window, the shortcut is added to both the Predecessor and Successor columns.

The following restriction applies to shortcuts: you cannot cascade from a shortcut to another shortcut.

5. Click OK to create the cascade relationships.
