Creating user mappings

Use the Create User Mappings window to create a mapping between a user's authorization at a DB2 database and the user's authorization at a data source.

Mapping these authorizations to one another is one of a series of actions that you perform to work with data in a federated database system.

To create user mappings:

  1. Open the Create User Mappings window.

  2. Populate the Selected user IDs box with user IDs that you want to create user mappings for. You can:

  3. In the User ID for data source field, type the user ID that resides at the data source.

  4. In the Password for data source field, type the password used with the data source user ID.

  5. In the Confirm password field, type the password for the data source again to confirm the first entry.

  6. DB2 for OS/390 only and optional: In the DRDA accounting string field, type the name of the DRDA accounting string.

  7. Click OK to create the user mappings. The user mapping objects appear in the Control Center.
