Use the Create Server window to define a server to
DB2.
Creating a server is one of a series of actions that
you perform to work with data in a federated system.

To create a server:
- Open the Create Server window.
- In the Name for new data source field,
type the name that you want to assign to the new data source.
- In the Server type box, select the type
of data source that you want to connect to.
- In the Version field, type the version
number of the data source that you want to connect to.
- In the Node name box, type or select the
node name where the data source resides.
- For DB2 data sources only: In the Database
name box, type or select the type of database that you want to
connect to.
- Optional and DB2 data sources only: In the User ID field, type the user ID to use on the
database that you want to connect to.
- Optional and DB2 data sources only: In the Password field, type the password for the user
ID.
- Optional: Click Options to display the
Create Server Options window.
- Click OK to create the server and place the server object in
the Control Center.
