Use the Create Server window to define a data source to your federated system.
Name for new data source
Type the name that you want the federated server to reference the data source by. This name can contain up to 128 characters and will appear in the Control Center as the label for your server object.
Server type
Use this box to specify the server type of the data source. Click the down arrow to display a list of server types and select one.
Version
Type the version and release number for your data source. Valid values for versions are composed of digits and, optionally, one or two decimal points.Do not enclose the version number in quotation marks or place a decimal point at the end of it. For example: 7, 7.1 or 7.2.0
Node name
Use this box to specify the node where your data source resides. Use one of the following methods:
Database name
DB2 data sources only: Use this box to specify the database name of your data source. Use one of the following methods:
User ID
Optional and DB2 data sources only: Type the user ID under which any necessary actions, such as binding required packages, are performed at the data source. This ID must:
If you do not specify a user ID, the one under which you connected to the federated database will be used.
Password
Optional and DB2 data sources only: Type the password of the user ID that you specified in the User ID field. The password must be typed in the case required by the data source; if any letters in the password are lowercase, be sure to enclose them in quotation marks.
Options
Click Options to open the Create Server Options window and select server options for data sources in your federated system.
