Recommending Government Programs to Clients

In addition to providing the worker with details of community services that meet the client's needs, the system also provides information on government programs for which the client may be eligible. From the results of a triage, a worker can screen, apply, or create a referral for a number of government programs that may meet the client's needs. Depending on the answers provided by the client in the question script, the CER rule set will identify programs provided internally by this agency, or externally by other agencies. For the recommended internal programs, the worker has the ability to screen or apply for benefits. For more information on screening and the application intake process, see Screening Clients to Determine Potential Eligibility for Programs and Lifecycle of a Client's Application Case: From Creation to Closure.

When a program is provided by an external agency, the worker may choose to screen for the program or create a referral to the agency on behalf of the client. Cúram Intake provides the ability to create a referral to an external agency from the triage results page using a 2-step wizard process. The wizard is pre-populated with the program details and any available client contact information. The worker may send, edit, or delete an unsent program referral. These three actions can be performed on unsent referrals. By selecting to send a referral, the referral will be sent to the provider via email. For more information on referrals, see Referring a Client to External Agencies and Service Providers.
