Adding Recommendations

A recommendation can be configured such that an activity is suggested by the system to the case worker when a client achieves a particular classification/classification subdivision. Recommendations are displayed in the Activity Workspace in the outcome plan when clients are assessed and recommendations have been configured for the assessment which has been run.

For example, an administrator can configure that a counseling service can be recommended if a client scores a classification of 'Need' on the substance abuse factor. Alternatively, recommendations can be configured at a more granular level such that an administrator can configure that a substance abuse day treatment program is recommended if a client scores a value of -5.

Recommendations can be created for services, referrals and actions.

An action can be selected from the action drop down. For more information on configuring actions see Configuring Actions of this guide.

A recommendation and reason can be specified for the recommendation. A recommendation indicates whether the case worker is advised to add the recommended activity to the outcome plan for a client or whether it is discretionary to add the activity to the outcome plan. The reason indicates why an administrator thinks the recommended activity should be added to the outcome plan.

The Select Programs list can be used to filter out recommendations depending on the programs/benefits a client is receiving. For example, an administrator can specify that an action to give a client a bus pass is not recommended if a client is receiving mileage reimbursement. Recommendations are not filtered out of the box but a hook has been provided which allows an agency to customize their own filtering rules or recommendation conditions can be used to perform filtering.
