Where the ZipPrint options are stored; the scope of ZipPrint options
The ZipPrint printer setup options and page setup options
are stored in the 3270 Display session profile.
For example, suppose that you have started a 3270 Display session
from a session profile named My3270Host
and that you modify the ZipPrint printer setup options or page setup options.
The modified printer setup options and page setup options
are stored in the My3270Host session profile.
-
These options are used for
all ZipPrint operations initiated from a session
started from the same session profile (such as My3270Host).
-
For example, suppose that you change the ZipPrint print destination
to File.
As a result, all ZipPrint printing
from a session
that is started from this session profile
is sent to a file destination,
including:
-
File > ZipPrint > Print From Application - Auto
-
File > ZipPrint > Print From Application - Select Profile
-
File > ZipPrint > Print Screen
-
Because the settings are stored in the session profile,
they are not lost when you terminate a session.
Because ZipPrint options are stored in the 3270 Display session profile,
they do not affect the printer setup options and page setup options for:
-
Any 3270 Printer session.
-
Any File > Print Screen in any 3270 Display session.
-
A ZipPrint in any 3270 Display session
started from a different session profile.
However, if your print destination is a Windows printer,
and you use the Windows Print Setup dialog
to make configuration changes to that Windows printer,
such as an orientation of Landscape rather than Portrait,
then those particular configuration changes affect
any Host On-Demand printing activity that uses that Windows printer, including:
-
Printing from any 3270 Printer session.
-
ZipPrint in any 3270 Display session.
