Server Macro Library

Server macro libraries are available for HTML model pages only. They allow you to create and maintain a central repository of macros for users to access from their Host On-Demand sessions. These macros are not downloaded to the user's machine until they are needed. Also, when you make changes to a server macro, users will automatically get your updates the next time they access the macro.

Server macro libraries are read-only for users and can reside on the Web or on a shared drive. From either location, you can control which macros in the library are available to particular Host On-Demand sessions. For more detailed information about server macro libraries, refer to Creating and deploying server macro libraries in the Planning, Installing, and Configuring Host On-Demand guide.

Check the box beside 'Use a server macro library for this session' if you want to make a server macro library available to your session users. Once you check the box, you can select from the following two server macro library locations:

• Web server: In the 'URL of macro list' field, type the fully qualified URL of a macro list that contains the names of all the macros you wish to make available to the session, for example http://servername/hod/macrolist.txt. In this example, macrolist.txt is a simple text file that contains the list of macros.
• Shared drive: Type the full path to a directory on a shared drive in the 'Path to macros' field. For information about specifying directories, refer to Valid Save directories in the online help. Specifying the path in this field makes all the macros in that directory available to the session.
