Saving performance data

You can save performance data using the Save commands in the File menu.

If you choose Save collected data, Quantify creates Quantify view file (.qv), which you can view later by running qv, Quantify's data analysis program. By default, Quantify names these files to reflect the program name and its run-time process identifier. You can assign a different name by selecting Save  collected data as . . .

You can also save the data as displayed in the Function List, Function Detail, and Annotated Source windows in text format; and the data as displayed in the Call Graph window in PostScript format.

You also have the option of saving Quantify data in export format. This is a clear-text version of the data suitable for processing by scripts. Read Exporting performance data and Saving data incrementally.

If you exit Quantify and have not saved the data, Quantify provides an opportunity to save the dataset before discarding it.

Note: For information about viewing a saved Quantify view file, read Running qv to view saved data.
