Options for saving data

Option

Default

-counts-file

%v.pcv

This option specifies the pathname and filename for saving the accumulated coverage counts. The default filename is the name of the program, with a .pcv extension; the default location is the directory where the program resides. You can use %v and the other conversion characters, %V, %p, and %n, to specify a filename with this option.

If you are also using the -view-file-format option to direct output to a Windows format .cfy data file, the default filename is %v%p%n.cfy, and the default location is the directory where the program resides.

-view-file-format

unix

Specifies the format or formats in which to save coverage data for a run. Allowable values are unix, windows, and both.

By default, PureCoverage saves data in a UNIX format  .pcv file. If you specify windows, PureCoverage saves data in a Windows format .cfy file, for viewing with Rational XDE or PureCoverage for Windows. If you specify both, PureCoverage saves the data in both .pcv and .cfy files.

By default, PureCoverage names .pcv files %v.pcv and names .cfy files %v.%p.%n.cfy.
