Scope

The Service Release described in this document affects RequisitePro and RequisiteWeb.

Hardware/Software Information

No changes from base release.

Installation Information

RequisitePro

To install the Service Release for RequisitePro, perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that RequisitePro is not running. Run the setup.exe file and follow the instructions.
2. Start RequisitePro. The Service Release is installed.

RequisiteWeb

Perform the following steps after you have installed the RequisitePro Service Release. These instructions assume that you have already installed RequisiteWeb Version 2002.05.00:

1. Stop the Internet Services Manager by doing one of the following:

• In Windows NT 4.0, open an MS-DOS shell and type: net stop w3svc
• In Windows 2000, click Start > Programs > Administrative Tools/Internet Services Manager. Right-click your server name and select Restart IIS. The Stop/Start/Reboot dialog box appears. Select Stop Internet Services and click OK. Leave the Internet Services Manager open.

3. Make a copy of your config.txt file and place it in a backup directory. Your config.txt file is located in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Rational\jakarta-tomcat\webapps\ReqWeb\WEB-INF\classes
4. Delete your ReqWeb folder and all its subfolders. The ReqWeb folder is located in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Rational\Jakarta-tomcat\webapps\ReqWeb
5. Start the Internet Services Manager by doing one of the following:

• In Windows NT 4.0, open an MS-DOS shell and type:

  net start w3svc
  

• In Windows 2000, right-click your server name in IIS and select Restart IIS. The Stop/Start/Reboot dialog box appears. Select Start Internet Services and click OK. Leave the Internet Services Manager open.

6. Place the backup copy of your config.txt file in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Rational\Jakarta-tomcat\webapps\ReqWeb\WEB-INF\classes
7. Restart the Internet Services Manager by doing one of the following:

• In Windows NT 4.0, open an MS-DOS shell and type:

  net start w3svc
  

• In Windows 2000, right-click your server name in IIS and select Restart IIS. The Stop/Start/Reboot dialog box appears. Select Restart Internet Services and click OK. Leave the Internet Services Manager open.

Note: The patch does not install revised versions of the Rational RequisitePro User's Guide (RequisitePro_Using.pdf) (RequisitePro_Using.pdf) or the Rational RequisitePro Installation Guide (RequisitePro_Installing.pdf). Defects Fixed in this Release

RequisitePro

Defect 16602: Taking documents off-line occasionally causes a specific run time error. Note: You may still experience a separate Microsoft Word Visual Basic error if the document is currently opened. Receiving this error will not prevent you from successfully taking the document off-line To avoid this error, close the document first before taking the document off-line

Defect 16580: The Choose Parent dialog box returns an empty or inaccurate list of parent requirements after a New Wizard command.

Defect 22222: RequisitePro's Check in All command runs slowly on projects containing a large number of documents. This effects the integration between RequisitePro and ClearCase.

Defect 16523: The RequisitePro E-mail Reader ignores messages referring to double-byte project names and discussion subjects, causing the occasional loss of discussion e-mail.

Defect 16527: Rebuilding tags and renumbering requirements occasionally deletes one-word requirements that are immediately adjacent to other requirements.

Defect 16486: Creating requirements in off-line documents, particularly requirements containing double-byte characters, produces an error.

Defect 16545: The Requirement Metrics tool corrupts the display of double-byte characters.

RequisiteWeb

Defect 16528: RequisiteWeb JSP Demo pages are missing.

Defect 16595: RequisiteWeb "Viewing Requirements Documents" Help page is incorrect.

Defect 16513: RequisiteWeb views of external requirement types do not retain traceability and links to requirements in external projects.

Documentation

Defect 18739: The online Help topics and User's Guide (RequisitePro_Using.pdf) sections that describe how to move project data to Oracle and SQL Server are unclear. The new topic titles are "Moving project data to an Oracle database" and "Moving project data to a SQL Server database."

Defect 18741: The online Help topic and User's Guide (RequisitePro_Using.pdf) section that describe how to move external projects is unclear. The new topic title is "Moving external projects."

Defect 18745: The information in online Help and User's Guide (RequisitePro_Using.pdf) that describes how to move RequisitePro projects is unclear.

Defect 18893: Project Administration Tips should state explicitly that the installation of RequisitePro does not require Microsoft Access to be installed.

Defect 16379: The online Help and the User's Guide (RequisitePro_Using.pdf) do not warn against using Wingdings font in requirement text.

Defect 16370: The online Help topic "Requirements Overview" has an incorrect hyperlink.

Defect 16210: On page 2 of the Rational RequisitePro Installation Guide (RequisitePro_Installing.pdf), in the section "System and Software Requirements," the Oracle client versions should match the Oracle server versions noted on page 3 of the same document.

Defect 21922: The Rational RequisitePro Installation Guide (RequisitePro_Installing.pdf) lacks a reference to the appropriate operating system.

Defect 16410: The Rational RequisitePro Installation Guide (RequisitePro_Installing.pdf) and OracleSetup.html omit key instructions in "Chapter 3: Configuring Enterprise Databases - Configuring Oracle for RequisitePro."

Defect 16515: The installation instructions for RequisiteWeb are unclear.

Defect 16451: The description of document filtering in RequisiteWeb online Help is incorrect. RequisiteWeb does not provide document filtering functions.

Defect 16217: RequisiteWeb online Help does not describe the Synchronize and Refresh buttons.

Defect 23840: The User's Guide (RequisitePro_Using.pdf) does not list "URL link" as an attribute type.
