ClearCase Branching, and Labeling Scheme

Used for new feature development by a single developer or group of developers sharing a common subsystem.

Only restriction on branch type name is it must be unique within a VOB.

Examples:

CO.01XX_wc_scm - Core 1.0 private branch for WC scm acct.

jim_core_test - Jim’s private branch for testing some version of Core.

BB.01XX_subsys_foo - BB Product 1.0 subsystem branch for “foo” group to integrate new feature development prior to releasing to SCM.

CO.02XX_joe - Joe’s private branch for developing new feature content in Core 2.0.
