• Duplicate storage is avoided through use of ClearCase hard links - one physical container, two paths to each file
• Hard links should be used with caution, but provide useful flexibility. For example, while the files are normally loaded via the source structure, it is occasionally convenient to load via the install structure

  • Writeable only by SCM
  • Contains
    • Products developed at other sites and sent to Ft. Washington as binary
    • Select Microsoft DLLs and executables deemed critical to correct product runtime environment
  • Two label types: SCM release and original product version
  • 1 SCM utilities VOB
    • Writeable only by SCM
    • Contains SCM scripts and other utilities
    • Accessed through dedicated view
