Rational ClearQuest Service Release 2001A.04.01.293.012 is designed to be
installed directly on top of ClearQuest v2001A.04.00. This service release comprises this
release notes file and a self extracting executable. Follow these steps to
install this service release:
1. If the ClearQuest web is
installed on your machine you must ensure that the ClearQuest\WWW folder is not
read-only.
2.
Run the self extracting executable
‘clearquest2001a.04.01.293.012.exe’.
3. Enter the
location of your existing ClearQuest or Rational Suite installation in the
‘Unzip to folder:’ field. Please be sure to provide the name of the folder that
contains the ClearQuest folder.
4. Press the ‘Unzip’ button to extract the
service release into your installation.
No other configuration is necessary. Users may immediately begin running the ClearQuest client.
To install this patch, please perform the
following steps:
1. Manually backup the existing
RqDatatransportWiz.exe file that the patch will overwrite. This file’s
default location is in the Program Files\Rational\RequisitePro\bin directory.
Complying with this directive will ensure that you can quickly restore your
system in the event a failure occurs while the patch is installing.
2. Ensure RequisitePro is not running. Unzip
the patch file and copy the extracted RqDataTransportWiz.exe file over
the existing one.
3. Start RequisitePro. The patch is
installed.
To install the patch,
please perform the following steps:
1. Manually backup
any files that the patch will overwrite.
2. Ensure that SoDA
for Word is not loaded in memory. If SoDA for Word is loaded in memory, be sure
to exit it before launching the patch.
3. Unzip the patch
file from the directory (<Install_Dir>) where the Rational Suite is
installed (such as C:\Program Files\Rational).
4. Extract the files
to the following paths:
<Install_Dir>\common\RSETeamTest.dll
<Install_Dir>\Rational
Test\rttestserver.dll
<Install_Dir>\Rational
Test\rtcomtestserver.dll
Files Modified
for this Patch
In this zip file you will find the following files:
1. rose.exe
2. roseres.dll
3. RoseDataModeler.Dll
4. RoseDataModelerResources.Dll
5. RoseDataModeler.zip
6. j2eemd.bmp
7. RforteLink.jarContent
8. rjava_addin.dll
9. rjava_addinres.dll
10. RforteLink.jar
11. RJBuilderLink.jar
To install this
patch, please perform the following steps:
If you have installed Rose Enterprise Edition you will need all of the files in this patch zip and should install them using the following steps:
1. Extract the zip file to a directory
2. Copy rose.exe and roseres.dll to C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose (or your installation area if the default was not used).
3. Copy the
RoseDataModeler.dll, RoseDataModelerResources.dll, and the RoseDataModeler.zip
(do NOT unzip this file) into the C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose\datamodeler
4. Copy the j2eemd.bmp,
rjava_addin.dll, rjava_addinres.dll into the C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose\java
directory
5. If you have Forte
installed, copy the RforteLink.jarContent and RforteLink.jar to the
<forte_install_dir>\modules
6.
If you have Jbuilder 4 installed, copy the RJBuilderLink.jar to the
<jbuilder_install_dir>\lib\ext, typically C:\Jbuilder4
From the command line, register the Rjava_addin.dll and RoseDataModeler.dll using regsrv32 with the commands:
C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose\Java> regsvr32 rjava_addin.dll
C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose\datamodeler> regsvr32 RoseDataModeler.Dll
If you have installed Rose Java Professional Edition, you do not any files except for the ones listed in step 4 above. Copying these files to your install area will not cause any problems, but also will not add any features to your installation of Rose. Follow the install instructions for the Rose Enterprise Edition.
From the command line, register the Rjava_addin.dll and rjava_addinres.dll using regsrv32 with the commands:
C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose> regsvr32 rjava_addin.dll
If you have installed Rose Data Modeler Professional Edition, you do not need the rjava_addin.dll and rjava_addinres.dll files. It is not recommended that you copy these files or register them on your computer as doing so will partially install features from the Rose Java Professional Edition, but will result in errors in the execution of Rose. To install the patch on this installation, simply copy the rose.exe and roseres.dll files to your Rational Rose installation area, typically C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose. Then copy RoseDataModeler.dll, RoseDataModelerResources.dll, and the RoseDataModeler.zip files to your Data Modeler directory, typically C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose\datamodeler.
C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose\datamodeler> regsvr32 RoseDataModeler.Dll
If you have installed any other edition of Rose, you only need to replace the rose.exe and roseres.dll files. Copying the other files to your system is not recommended as this may cause errors in the execution of Rose. To install the patch on this installation, simply copy the rose.exe, and roseres.dll files to your Rational Rose installation area, typically
C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose
What to do After
Installation:
Reboot the
machine to ensure Windows handled everything ok.
What to do
Before Installation:
Check that there
is a valid Rose RT v6.3 installed and ensure that file and directory permissions
allow writing to the file listed in section 3.
If Rose Real Time has been network/admin installed, the patch applies to the server machine only. Please contact your administrator to install the patch.
To install this
patch, please perform the following steps:
1. Ensure there is no running instance of Rose RealTime on the system to update.
2. Ensure that you DELETE ALL EXISTING .chw files from your $ROSERT_HOME/Help directory.
Any existing .chw files that you may have will not correspond to the new help files.
3. Copy the appropriate .tar.gz files for your platform to your $ROSERT_HOME directory and untar them there.
on Windows you
would need RoseRealTime2001a.04.01.293.010.tar.gz and
RoseRealTime2001a.04.01.293.010.win32.tar.gz
use winzip to extract the files into %ROSERT_HOME% usually this is the directory "C:\Program Files\Rational\Rose RealTime". Note that winzip is able to read the .tar.gz file, but it may report that "Archive contains one file: RoseRealTime2001a.04.01.293.010.win32.tar.gz Should WinZip decompress it to a temporary folder and open it?", answering Yes will allow the process to proceed.
What to do After
Installation:
The accompanying
tar files are no longer needed.
However, if you wish to retain them if a re-installation is required,
place these tar files in $ROSERT_HOME/specials.
Run the toolset
and ensure that the build number is 6.3.114.0. (If it is
6.3.112.0, then
the patch was not applied correctly.)
There are 3 different files available for the
Test Tools.
·
