Naming conventions and short names

This section contains the product names and their short names used in the information center.

IBM® software products are named from the customer's point of view. The names focus on software features, functions or benefits. Because technology can be complex, we employ a software naming architecture to organize the information in a consistent manner. The full, formal name includes all components: master brand, family name, descriptors and identifiers. In the Information the short names (the core of a product name includes the family name and descriptors) of the products will normally be used.

This is the naming structure for IBM software products referenced to in the information center:
