Configuring a WebSphere Application Server data source for MAP on DB2

After installing Multi-Channel Server (MCS) with a DB2® database, Mobile Portal Accelerator extensions, and the Media Access Proxy (MAP), you must configure the data source to access the MAP from the Mobile Portal Accelerator.

DB2 client software should be installed on your WebSphere Portal server. If the DB2 client software is not already installed, follow the instructions that are provided with the DB2 documentation to install DB2 and any required fix packs.

Note: Because IBM® Mobile Portal Accelerator does not use the OLAP Starter Kit, you do not need to install the OLAP Starter Kit. An existing DB2 installation with the OLAP Starter Kit does not affect the operation of Mobile Portal Accelerator.
