Other IBM products that bridge to QMF
You can use the following IBM products with QMF to expand the function
of QMF:
- Application System (AS)
- AS can issue QMF commands and define QMF queries. AS can then use the
results of the QMF queries as input to AS processes.
- Data Extract (DXT)
- QMF can invoke DXT(TM) End User Dialogs to allow the end user to extract
data from sources not directly supported by QMF.
- ECF
- The Enhanced Connectivity Facility (ECF) allows a workstation user to
access host relational data. The workstation user uses ECF facilities to send
a request to the host to run a saved QMF query or procedure and to download
the retrieved data to the workstation.
- GDDM
- The Interactive Chart Utility (ICU), used by QMF to display charts,
is actually a feature of Graphical Data Display Manager (GDDM(R)).
- ISPF
- Interactive System Product Facility allows the user to generate panels
that can interact with QMF via the command interface.
- Lotus 1-2-3/M
- The host version of Lotus(R) 1-2-3(R) can access QMF to perform
spreadsheet analysis on query results.
