Specifying the JDBC driver in the Mobile Device Administration Center

This task is part of the main task for Configuring the Sync Server for non-DB2 data sources. When you have completed the steps, return to Configuring the Sync Server to access data sources.

Procedure

In the Mobile Device Administration Center, when you create a JDBC or carga subscription, you must specify the correct driver on the Source tab of the Creating JDBC Subscription or cuaderno Crear suscripción de carga.

In most cases, you only need to select the correct source database type from the Driver drop-down list. The field to the right is automatically updated with the full name of the JDBC driver.

For DB2 Universal Database, select DB2 UDB local if the DB2 database is running on the same machine as the Sync Server. Select DB2 UDB remote if the DB2 database is running remotely. For the latter case, make sure the remote DB2 database is configured correctly to allow proper JDBC connection.

Notas:

  1. For DB2 Everyplace, select DB2 UDB local for both local and remote DB2 databases.

  2. For AS400, select DB2 UDB remote for the AS400 Toolbox jdbc. DB2 UDB local is NOT supported
