Essbase Java API

Essbase Java API (JAPI) is an object-oriented Java interface that allows consumer programs to access Essbase platform services. It enables consumers to single sign on to Essbase domain, select OLAP servers and Enterprise Services servers, connect to it, and to perform query and updates of data and metadata, and administration of the security domains. JAPI serves as the high performance, native object interface for accessing the Essbase platform functionality, and supports the functionality of the existing Essbase C-API (Main, Outline, Grid), and more to well suit the current and future market need. JAPI uses interface-based paradigm, and provides generic access as well as specific access to all the services that it offers. JAPI is completely written in Java and communicates with the Essbase Enterprise Services servers using a choice of the following ORB/Protocol types: CORBA, EJB, HTTP, TCPIP.
