Restoring a file system on Windows NT

This section describes how to restore a backup from tape on Windows NT. This is performed by using the Windows NT backup and restore utility. To access the restore utility perform the following steps:

1. Click Start and select Programs --> Administrative Tools --> Backup
2. On the Operations menu, click Catalog to load the tape catalog of backup sets.
3. In the Tapes window, select the files, sets, or tape you want to restore using the appropriate method:
   • To select contiguous sets, click the first set, hold down SHIFT, and click the last contiguous set.
   • To select non-contiguous files, click a set, hold down CTRL, and click each set.
4. On the Select menu, click Check.
5. Select the backup sets you want in the right panel of the Tapes window.
6. On the Select menu, click Check to select the check boxes for the selected backup sets.
7. On the Operations menu, click Restore.
