You need to establish communications between the workstation on which you will install DB2 OLAP Server and the client workstations on which you will install the Essbase client.
DB2 OLAP Server always listens for incoming requests on port number 1423, regardless of which operating system you use.
Table 4 shows the communication protocols that you can use with each
supported operating system.
