Warehouse Manager Installation Guide
Before you install a Windows NT warehouse agent, you must remove the
Visual Warehouse Version 5.2 or earlier Windows NT agent that is
located on that workstation.
To remove a Visual Warehouse Windows NT agent:
- Click Start --> Settings --> Control
Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- On the Install/Uninstall page, click Visual Warehouse, then
click the Add/Remove button.
The Confirm Removal window opens.
- Click Remove.
- Delete the VWSWIN directory:
- Open Windows NT Explorer.
- Locate the VWSWIN directory on the drive where you installed the Visual
Warehouse Windows NT agent.
- Delete the VWSWIN directory.
- Remove Visual Warehouse from the Windows NT registry:
- Click Start --> Run.
- In the Open field, type regedit, then click
OK.
- Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder.
- Expand the Software folder.
- Expand the IBM folder.
- Delete the Visual Warehouse folder.
Before you install a Windows NT warehouse agent, ensure that you are using
a Windows NT user ID that has administrator privileges. If DB2
Universal Database is installed on the warehouse agent site, it must be at
Version 7.
To install a Windows NT warehouse agent:
- Close all Windows programs.
- Insert the Warehouse Manager CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The
launchpad opens.
- Click Install from the launchpad.
- In the Select Products window, ensure that the DB2 Warehouse
Manager check box is selected, then click Next.
- In the Select Installation Type window, click Custom, then
click Next.
- In the Select DB2 Components window, select the Warehouse Agent
check box, then click Next.
- In the Start Copying Files window, review your selections. If you
want to change any of your selections, click Back to return to the
window where you can change the selection. Click Next to
begin copying files.
- In the Setup Complete window, click Finish to restart the
workstation.
After you install the warehouse agent, click Start -->
Settings --> Control Panel --> ODBC to register
your source and target databases as system DSNs.
