Invoking an action when the status of a node changes to down or unknown

For partitioned database environments only. Use the Node Status page of the Tools Settings notebook to specify what happens when the status of a node changes to down or unknown.

To request an action when the status of a node changes to down or unknown:

  1. Open the Node Status page of the Tools Settings notebook.
  2. To turn node status reporting on, select the Enable node status reporting check box.
  3. Optional: To have the Alert Center surface when the status of a node changes to down or unknown, go to the Alert Center page of the Tools Settings notebook and select On new warnings and alarms or On new alarms only.
  4. To indicate the length of time between report updates, click the arrow keys under Node status refresh interval and select a refresh interval between 10 seconds and 1 hour.
  5. Indicate what Actions to take when the database manager node is down or unknown, select one of the check boxes.
  6. Close the Tools Settings notebook by double-clicking in the upper left corner of the notebook.
