Use the Create Server window to define a remote server to DB2.
Creating a server is one of a series of actions that
you perform to work with data in a federated system.

To create a server:
- Open the Create Server window.
- In the Name for remote data source field, type the name that
you want to assign to the remote data source.
- In the Server type list, select the type of data source that
you want to connect to.
- In the Version field, type the version number of the data
source that you want to connect to.
- In the Node name box, type or select the node name where the
data source resides.
- For DB2 data sources only: In the Database name box, type
or select the type of database that you want to connect to.
- Optional: For DB2 data sources only, specify a user ID and
password:
- In the User ID field, type the user ID that you want to use at
the remote database.
- In the Password field, type the password for the user
ID.
- Optional: Click Options to open the
Options window and select server options that enable special features that
can improve performance.
- Click OK to create the server and place the server object in
the Control Center.
