Improving performance for a database with different workloads using a wizard

For single-partition database environments only. Use the Configure Performance wizard to create multiple script files for different workloads. For example, you might create one workload for core business hours and a different workload for other times.

Authorities and privileges

To improve performance for a database with different workloads using a wizard:

  1. Open the Configure Performance wizard:
    1. From the Control Center expand the object tree until you find the partitioned database for which you want to view the database partitions.
    2. Right-click the partitioned database and select select Configure Using Wizard from the pop-up menu. The Configure Performance wizard opens.
  2. Follow the steps in the wizard to complete the first workload, specifying these options:
    1. Do not select to apply the recommendations immediately.
    2. Select the Save to Script Center check box.
  3. Repeat steps 1) and 2) for as many workloads as needed.
  4. Whenever you need a workload that you saved using this method, run that script from the Script Center, and then restart the database. To restart the database, right-click the database in the contents pane of the Control Center and select Restart.
