Importing target tables into a warehouse target

Use the Warehouse Target notebook to import definitions of tables to include in your warehouse target.

The Available tables list contains the tables that are retrieved from the database catalog based on the filter criteria that you specify. When you move a table or individual column to the Selected tables list, you select it as a warehouse target. When you click OK, the newly selected table and column definitions are retrieved and defined in the warehouse. These new definitions will appear in this list when you reopen the Warehouse Target notebook or if you select the tables folder below the warehouse target node in the Data Warehouse Center tree.

To import target tables into a warehouse target:

  1. Open the Warehouse Target notebook.

  2. On the Tables page, expand the Tables folder. The Filter window opens.

  3. In the Filter window, specify the types of objects you want to import from the database.

  4. Click OK. The objects that meet the filter criteria that you entered are displayed in the Available tables list.

  5. Select the tables or individual columns that you want to include in your warehouse target from the Available tables list, and click >. The tables or columns that you selected are moved to the Selected tables list.

If you want to include all of the items in the Available tables list, click >>.

  6. Go to the Security page if you're creating a warehouse target, or click OK to save your changes and close the Warehouse Target notebook.
