and privilegesUse the Warehouse Target notebook to provide database information for your warehouse target and to create and enable the warehouse target for the use of transformers. To use transformers, you must have the JDK installed at the target site. See the agent installation section of the Warehouse Manager Installation Guide for more information on setting up the environment.
To specify or modify database information for a warehouse target:
On the Database page, specify the name of the database in the Database name field. To establish a connection, the database must already exist and be cataloged as an ODBC System DSN.
Optional: If you are using a database that has the same name as another database or file on a different machine, in the System Name field specify the host name of the machine on which the database that you are defining as a warehouse target exists.
In the User ID field, type the user ID that will be used to access the database from the agent site.
In the Password field, type the password for the user ID that will access the database.
In the Verify Password field, type the password again.
Optional: In the Target database area, specify whether the Data Warehouse Center transformers should be created in the target database.
If you do not want to create Data Warehouse Center transformers in the target database, click Drop or do not create transformers.
If you choose to drop transformers for this target, processes or steps that are defined in the warehouse target that use transformers will not be operational. If you decide later that you want transformers, you can create them again.
Dropping transformers in this warehouse target will affect other warehouse targets associated with the database.
If you want to create the transformers and run them as fenced, click Create transformers and register as fenced. If you want to create the transformers and run them as unfenced, click Create transformers and register as unfenced.
If you change the transformers from fenced to unfenced or unfenced to fenced, the stored procedures are dropped and then recreated. This change affects other warehouse targets that are associated with the database.
Optional: In the Warehouse target area, specify whether to enable the warehouse target for transformers.
To specify that the warehouse target will be able to use transformers, click Enable target for transformers. If transformers have previously been enabled for this warehouse target, Enable for transformers will already be selected.
To specify that the warehouse target will not be able to use transformers, click Do not enable target for transformers.
Go to the Tables and Views page if you're creating a warehouse target, or click OK to save your changes and close the Warehouse Target notebook.
