Importing source files into a warehouse source

Use the Warehouse Source notebook to add a LAN file definition that you want to include in the warehouse source. You can also list existing LAN file definitions and modify or remove a file definition.

To import files into a warehouse source:

  1. Open the Warehouse Source notebook.

  2. Optional: On the Files page, specify pre-and post- access commands for a local flat file warehouse source or the information needed to access a remote flat file warehouse source.

  3. Right-click in the blank area on the Files page and select Define. The Define Warehouse Source File notebook opens.

  4. Define the warehouse source file.

  5. Optional: To view a sample of the data that exists in a file that you already defined to this warehouse source, right-click the file in the Files list and select Sample contents. The first 200 rows of the file are displayed.

  6. Optional: To remove an existing file definition, right-click a file from the Files list and select Remove.

  7. Go to the Security page if you are defining a warehouse source, or click OK to save your changes and close the Warehouse Source notebook.
