This section describes how you can customize your Information Catalog Manager sessions.
The following items are default settings for your Information Catalog Manager session:
You can display and change the default actions that the Information Catalog Manager performs on objects. To alter the default actions that occur when you double-click on an object or when you select an object and press Enter:
The Information Catalog Manager Settings notebook opens.
You can choose to open an object in a Tree or Description view, or you can choose to start a program when you double-click the object.
If you have not changed the action, the default action is to open the object in a Description view. This action applies to objects in windows other than the Subjects window.
You might do this to keep the view consistent for each object window that you open. If you do not select this check box, objects in the Subjects window will always open in the default Tree View.
You can also use this notebook page to turn off the confirmation message that is displayed when you close the Information Catalog Manager.
You can specify whether you want to display (in certain windows) the object property values that the Information Catalog Manager generates. The default setting is to hide the following property values:

You can change the default wildcard characters and search options that the Information Catalog Manager uses when you search for an object.
To change wildcard characters:

In addition to the default wildcard characters, the Information Catalog Manager also treats _ (underscore) and % (percent) as wildcards, because DB2 databases use these characters as wildcards. To not treat _ and % as wildcards, click Matching exactly in the Define Search window. You can also specify this setting on the Search page of the Settings notebook.
