1 less line/page 3800-3 vs 3827

Question

I have a document I normally format for both a 3827 and a 3800 Model 3. On the 3800-3 I get one less line per page. Why?

Answer

  The 38PP device tokens have a bottom margin of .125 inches to ensure font
  decenders don't poke into the unprintable area around the perf.  You can
  add .125 inches to the bottom margin for your 3820 documents to gain
  parity.
