Why would I want to customize DCF at installation?
You might want to:
1. Translate the messages and generated text into another language.
Examples of generated text: Strings used for table of contents and
index, index page range separator, index page list separator.
2. Modify or delete command options. For example, make SYON the default
command option or remove it entirely.
3. Change logical and/or physical device tables to support different
printers or modify the way existing printers are supported. For
example, you might want a 3812 device type.
4. Change the index sort sequence. For example, to sort based on codepages
other than the country extended codepages.
CONS--local mods must be reapplied after applying maintenance, problems
must be demonstrated on unmodified source, need staff to support local
mods, manuals won't reflect your mods.
