1.   Supported Stack

 

Following Stack OS and python are supported with the latest Novalink 2.1.0

 

·      Ubuntu : Ubuntu 18.04 + (Power8/Power9)

·      Ubuntu : Ubuntu 20.04 + (Power8/Power9)

·      RHEL : RHEL 8.6 + (Power8/Power9/Power10)

·      RHEL : RHEL 9.0 + (Power9/Power10)

 

2.   How to update/install Novalink 2.1.0

 

For upgrading (From Novalink 2.0.3.1 or prior) or installing to novalink 2.1.0 follow below KC:

·      Live Partition Mobility (LPM) support for Virtual Persistent Memory (vPMEM)

 

 

Note: For RHEL 9.0 and Ubuntu 20.04, minimum required level of Novalink is 2.1.0

 

4.   Fixes in Novalink 2.1.0

·      In ISO Installer: Removed long running download logs and anaconda-shell@hvc1.service traces been disabled, reducing the logs (non-productive), and isolating the install issues when encountered.

 

5.   Change History for 2.1.0

·      Released on 10-02-2023, Patched for listed fix (pvm-novalink-2.1.0-230209_4439 or later)

·       Addressed IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty and java vulnerability: CVE-2021-29425, CVE-2022-21628, CVE-2022-21626, CVE-2022, CVE-2022-3509, CVE-2022-3171

·       Console max limit increased to 1024 as workaround of RedHat issue, where console devices were not getting reused after closing console because of this issue console fails to open with “no more device available” error. RedHat already working to release patch for same.

PowerVM NovaLink uses versioning in the form of Version, Release, Mod Level and Fix (VRMF).  Example 2.0.0
