By default C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\server adsmdll.dll dsmserv.exe dsmsvc.exe dsmameng.msg dsmameng.txt dsmameng.hlp - From the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers directory, copy the file listed below to a temporary location. adsmscsi.sys 4) Execute PA3745S.exe and unpack the files into a temporary location. 5) Copy the unpacked files to the proper location. This will install the files necessary for this patch. - To server directory. By default C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\server adsmdll.dll dsmserv.exe dsmsvc.exe dsmameng.msg dsmameng.txt dsmameng.hlp - To readmes directory. By default C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\readmes readme-3746.txt - To the Windows directory, %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers directory adsmscsi.sys 6) If you need to back off this patch, simply copy the files saved away in step 3) back to the appropriate directories. ********************************************************************** * Fixes available in PATCH 3.7.4.6 * ********************************************************************** IC30227 INSTALLATION OF THE TSM SERVER CODE MAY REMOVE ANY DEVICES LISTED BY LSDEV WHOSE NAME CONTAINS MT, LB OR OP. The installation of the TSM devices fileset (SCSI or fibre) looks for any existing lb, mt or op devices and will remove any of these devices prior to installing the new device driver. The ------------------ PQ48420 HANG ACQUIRE MUTEX ISSUING RECREATE BITVECTORS (IC29878) Server crash or hang running the recreate bitvectors command on any server platform except for Windows. ------------------ IC30177 EXPORT TAPES CREATED WITH AIX SERVER NOT USABLE ON MVS. Creation of EXPORT tapes (3590) from AIX server are not usable as IMPORT tapes on MVS servers. The HDR and TRLR files contain null characters (x'00') that result in error: IEC149I 813-04. In the HDR, the DSNAME is affected; in the TRLR, the EOF1. ------------------ IY06156 DELETE VOLUME HISTORY WHEN USING THE TOTIME PARAMETER CAN GIVE INCONSISTENT RESULTS WHEN TIME IS +/- 1 HOUR AFTER TIME CHANGE Unexpected results can occur when attempting to delete volume history records from an ADSM/Tivoli Storage Manager server using the totime parameter if the records being deleted are from a date prior to a time change. For example: - After a forward change in time (spring) A query volhist will show a time of 10:00 A delete volhist totime=10:00 (for the given day) will not delete the entry A delete volhist totime=11:00 (for the given day) will delete the entry For a change back in time (fall) A volume history entry shows a time of 10:00 A del volhist totime=9:00 (for the given day) will delete the entry even though the time was correct. It appears that the relative time being stored for the date/time of the volhist entry when compared against a time converted from a different "hour in the day" reference (before or after a time change) is going to be plus or minus 60 minutes off depending upon whether the time change was forward or backward. The server needs to account for this time change in some way so that the time in the output from a query volhist is relative to the current days time. ------------------ ********************************************************************** * Fixes available in PATCH 3.7.4.5 * ********************************************************************** IC29877 ANR9999D DSVOL.C ERROR1 OPENING BIT VECTOR AND ANR1310E VARY-ON ------------------ 30459 Enhanced rc checking on unload processing. This change corrects APAR IC29877 ------------------ 28877 CLEAN ARCHDIR error on MVS (TSM development defect) This is an additional correction for APAR IC27286 ------------------ IC29245 ERROR SWITCHING TO SIDE B OF OPTICAL AND WORM MEDIA SYSROUTES: IC29263(AIX37),IC29264(NT37),IC29245(SUN37), IC29265(AIX41),IC29266(NT41),IC26267(SUN41) TSM does not switch to Side B of a two-sided optical or worm media when it reaches the end of volume on Side A during a backup operation. ------------------ PQ40633 UNLOAD LOAD ANR9999D ANR1310E VARY-ON FAILED FOR DISK VOLUME ER SYSROUTES: IC28385(AIX37),PQ40633(MVS37),IC28386(NT37),IC28387(HP37),IC28388(SUN37), IC28389(AIX41),PQ42186(MVS41),IC28390(NT41),IC28391(HP41),IC28392(SUN41) The server unloaddb utility does not accurately report the success or failure of the process. Because of this, there are cases where the unloaddb db image may be incomplete. ------------------ IC27651 DSMSERV LOADDB LOOPS WITH 100% CPU UTILIZATION SYSROUTES: IC29780(AIX37),PQ46711(MVS37),IC29781(NT37),IC29782(HP37),IC29783(SUN37), IC29784(AIX41),PQ46712(MVS41),IC29785(NT41),IC29786(HP41),IC27651(SUN41) During both the unload and load funtions a timing condition can that will cause the functions to not break out of loop, preventi it from terminating normally. ------------------ IC28349 WEB ADMIN SESSIONS HANG. The problem is caused by a LOOP in the buffer prefetcher. ------------------ IC29533 TSM SERVER CORE DUMPS: ANR9999D ACCESSING INVALID MEMORY AND RU SYSROUTES: ------------------ IC29878 AFTER TSM SERVER UNLOAD/LOAD AND MISSING BIT VECTOR PROBLEM (IC29877), FUNCTION IS NEEDED TO DELETE OR REBUILD BIT VECTOR SYSROUTES: When a TSM server runs into the missing bit vector problem after an unload/load (as described by APARs PQ40633 and IC29877) function is needed to allow either the deletion of the volume with the missing bit vector or the rebuilding of the bit vector for the volume with this problem. The follow errors are seen on the server when this there are missing bit vectors for disk pool volumes: A new undocumented command RECREATE BITVECTORS has been added to allow the missing bitvector objects to be recreated. After applying the fix for the APAR, run the command RECREATE BITVECTORS. This command will run as a backgroud process. The command takes no parameters. When the background process completes a message will be issued showing the number of disk storage pool volumes that were checked and the number of disk storage pool volumes that had their bitvector object recreated. After the background processes completes halt then restart the TSM server. This should bring the volumes back online. Do not use the VARY ON command to vary the volumes online, they should be brought online through a halt and restart of the server. ------------------ IC29916 FIBER CHANNEL ATTACHED STK9840 I/O PROBLEM SYSROUTES: ------------------ IC29981 TSM SERVER PERFORMANCE ISSUE WITH ACSLS SYSROUTES: ------------------
