ATTENTION

This is an interim fix (patch) level 5.5.0.3.
It is intended to provide relief for critical problems where a local circumvention is unavailable.

A limited amount of testing has been done to verify the fixes. Consequently, we strongly recommend that you perform additional testing before putting the package into a production environment.

These fixes will be tested further by IBM Tivoli Storage Management and included in the next Maintenance/Fix Pack Level.

Fix history

Interim Fix (patch) level 5.5.0.3 supersedes any 5.5.0.x level previously available. Continued stress testing revealed issues that we wanted to address as quickly as possible and to prevent confusion a new patch level (5.5.0.3) was selected to address the issues. All APAR fixes previously scheduled to be delivered in 5.5.0.2 have been delivered in the 5.5.0.3 level of the Tivoli Storage Manager Server.

Getting started

For information on installing this interim fix, see the Tivoli Storage Manager Installation Guide for your operating system. Installation Guides are available in the Tivoli Information Center.

Installation instructions are available in the Appendix titled "Applying IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Updates."

For Windows systems, refer to the section "Installing Tivoli Storage Manager" in Chapter 1. Interim fix packages are installed the same way that base release packages are. Leave the license and any language packages installed from the previous installation. You do not need to reinstall them for fix packs or interim fixes.

These are available at the Tivoli Storage Manager Product Support web site. As problems are discovered and resolved, the IBM Support team updates the knowledge base. Publications for Tivoli Storage Manager are available in the Tivoli Storage Manager Information Center.  Documentation is available in PDF or HTML formats, or in most cases both.

To use the PDF format, you can obtain the Adobe Acrobat Reader. To install Adobe Acrobat Reader on your platform, run the appropriate installation file, and follow the online installation instructions.

You can also visit the Tivoli Storage Manager product support web site for flashes (alerts from technical support), client requirements, server requirements, supported devices, manuals, and downloads.  Search problem reports and other service information for topics of interest.
