Example: specifying the collating sequence
The following example shows the ENVIRONMENT DIVISION
coding
that you can use to specify a collating sequence in which uppercase
and lowercase letters are similarly handled in comparisons and in
sorting and merging.
When you change the EBCDIC sequence in the SPECIAL-NAMES
paragraph,
the overall collating sequence is affected, not just the collating
sequence of the characters that are included in the SPECIAL-NAMES
paragraph.
